Boerne Church of Christ

Boerne and the Area

Boerne, as mentioned, is conveniently located right on Interstate 10, a quick 25 minute drive from San Antonio. Residents enjoy the advantages of a smaller community, and all the advantages of a nearby, large city. Within the city limits, Boerne has an approximate population of 6,000. Maybe a better perspective, however, is the 23,000 or so population from which the Boerne Independent School District draws. There are a number of residential developments and subdivisions in the immediate area. Boerne schools are some of the best in the state. The school district has received Blue Ribbon recognition and awards in recent years. And, a good number of our members work in the BISD. The Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch area is considered a fairly affluent area. Costs of living are noticeably highly than north San Antonio as well as other surrounding areas. Since much of Boerne''s working populace drive into San Antonio for employment, Boerne is considered a bedroom community. Its history is tied to the German folk who pioneered and settled the hill country of Texas much of the German feel can be experienced in Boerne as well as in communities in the area (i.e. Fredericksburg). Boerne is a growing community with every potential imaginable to a church wanting to reach active, busy, growing and non-church-going families and individuals.

Family Fun and Relaxation

The Boerne area is a perfect place for family fun and entertainment, being situated near Fiesta Texas, a Six Flags theme park (20 minutes) and Sea World (35 minutes). Of course the Alamo is in downtown San Antonio, and for sports lovers there is professional basketball (Spurs), hockey (Rampage) and semi-professional (Missions) baseball. Boerne is approximately 3 hours from the Texas coast where many locals vacation and retreat.
