Here is the information on the Pay it Forward in Purses:
Dear Friends, I have known many of you for several years and I know you donate to your favorite organizations and charities on a regular basis. I have been thinking of a way to reach out to the women affected by Harvey. My idea is to Pay it Forward in Purses. Purses filled with items which women can use immediately and get some needed "me" time when they are stressed to the max.
I would ask that each of you who would like to participate, donate a purse or two that you no longer use, want, like, or is just tired of in your wardrobe. The purse should be in good used condition and the inside needs to be clean.
Then each person can put whatever you would like into the purse to give to a woman who has lost so much, and is in such need for a bright spot in their day. I am suggesting the following as ideas for fillers, and it is not a complete list but it will get you started.
lip balm, shampoo/conditioner,post-it note pad, lotion comb/brush rubber gloves, nail file, flash light ,feminine Hygiene products toothbrush/paste, dental floss , deodorant, insect repellent, recipe pens/pencils, tissue packs, sun screen, hand sanitizer, scrunchies deck of cards, good paperback book, nail polish, batteries AA,AAA, C, shoe laces postage stamps, small spiral notebook, blank note cards small bottle water, candy bar Gift cards to local stores like HEB, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Sonic, etc.
Each purse should contain a personal note of encouragement from the person giving the purse. Once I collect all the purses I will attach The Hill Country is Thinking of You card to each purse before it is shipped to the victims of Harvey who are living in shelters here (Boerne area), Houston, Rockport and Port as Texas.
On Friday, September 29th, I will be at three locations here in Boerne to pick up your purses:
10:00 - 11:30 @ the Park and Ride in front of Valero at IH10 and Cascade Caverns Rd.
12:30 - 2:00 @ the Park and Ride in front of Chili's, IH10 and the Access Rd.
6:00 to 7:00 @ the Park and Ride on North Main Street just north of Sisterdale Rd.
If these times do not work for you I will at home to collect purses from 5:00 to 7:00 on Thursday, September 28th. Please email me email@example.com for directions. If you decide you would like to participate in this project, please ask your neighbor to take part of this effort. If you have a daughter or granddaughter, she might be interested in filling one of her purses too. I think this is a very inexpensive way to make an impact of the power of women helping women in their time of need.
